GGRS Meeting

Charlie and Frances Tidd , Cumming , GA

June 9, 2007

The Ducktown and Settendown Creek Railroad is nestled in the backyard shade and includes ponds, streams and waterfalls. Charlie built many of the structures. Frances is known in the community as "Gardening in the Dark" because of the deep shade gardens she tends. Don Nute found that shooting photos from the shade with bright sun in the background was also a challenge!

Richard Garlinghouse gave a nice workshop on building structures from foam insulation, and Danie Alvero gave a presentation on a timetable for deciding whether to make a bid to host a National Garden Railway Convention in Atlanta in roughly 2013.

Everyone enjoyed the hot dogs, the side dishes, and the good company on a perfect day. Thanks to Charlie and Frances for hosting a fine meeting.
