World's Greatest Hobby Tour

Cobb Galleria, February 3-4, 2007

The GGRS set up its club layout at Cobb Galleria during the World's Greatest Hobby Tour.

As the photos show, the layout looked great and the crowd was large.

Thanks to Dave Bennett for coordinating our display at the show,

to Arno Barr and Russ Bundy for taking the photos,

and to a large crew of GGRS members for setting up the layout,

running the trains, answering questions, and tearing down the layout

at the end of the show.

Setting up the layout before...

...the crowds arrive!

People were often stacked three-deep around the layout.

Have any questions about garden railroading? Somebody in this
group has an answer!

A Climax pulls a short string of nicely- weathered ore cars past
an equally good-looking freight house.

Here's another shot of that Climax and another great building.

A 2-6-0 crosses the bridge and starts onto the trestle.

The pier and trestle really look good.

Beside the trestle is a farm.

An animated sawmill is just one of the exceptional
models on the layout.

Lowell Dietz operating an 0-5-0 to back a train into the station.

This is a huge station, and it's a beauty.

Every layout needs a town, and every town needs a Main Street.

A 4-4-0 waits for the Climax to clear the switch.

Not all the power running in the show was steam.

Here's Central of Georgia 114 again passing the sand house.

A good view of 114 in the yard.

Even Amtrak runs on the GGRS line.

The roof has been pulled off this building to show the interior.
